Silverwood Lake is located off Highway 138, 11 miles east of the I-15 or 24 miles northeast of San Bernardino from highways 18 and 138.  Silverwood Lake is surrounded by 2,400 acres of ancient Douglas Firs, Black Oak trees and spectacular views of the mountain creeks.  At an altitude of 3,380, Silverwood Lake was formed by the 249-foot Cedar Springs Dam; at 3,350 feet it is the highest reservoir hosted by the State Water Project.  The lake has a surface area of 976 acres and has 13 miles of shoreline.

Rocky Mountain Recreation operates under a special use permit as a concessionaire for the Silverwood Lake State Recreation Park.  Rocky Mountain Recreation has no authority to override the above listed fees.

Boating & Rentals

To rent a fishing boat, you must provide a valid driver’s license, be 18 years of age or older, and have the deposit amount available by credit card.  All boat rental fees include fuel, personal flotation devices, paddles and an anchor. The maximum lake speed limit is 35 mph. 20% off Military, Fire, Police, Senior (65 and older) Monday – Friday, excluding Holidays.  We do not take reservations for boats, they are first-come first-serve only.

Park Information

The campground has 136 sites for tent camping and recreational vehicles.  All site are non-hookup sites.  Each site has a picnic table, fire-ring, and barbeque grill.  A maximum of 8 people per site only! A minimum of 50 people constitutes as a group, there are only 2 group sites available.  For family or group reservations please call (800) 444-7275.  Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance and can be made up to 7 months in advance.  For more information on prices, rules, and reservations for these campsites click here.

Fishing Information

Fishing is excellent at Silverwood Lake.  Anglers 16 years of age or older must purchase a California Department of Fish & Game fishing license.
Regular trout plants take place throughout the year by the California Department of Fish and Game.  Other species of fish include Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, Crappie, Bluegill and Channel Catfish which bite throughout the year.  You can call the marina for the most recent fish report.  You may also call (562) 594-7268 for pre-recorded trout plant information.

Fishing is permitted only during the posted park operating hours.  Fishing is allowed off the dock!   For fishing regulations, visit the California Department of Fish and Game.

Services

For your convenience there is a marina which will provide you with grocery items, ice, hot and cold drinks, snacks, toys, swimming apparel, camping goods, and firewood.  In addition, the marina provides California Department of Fish & Game fishing licenses, bait and tackle, a boat rental fleet of motorboats, wet slips, and dry storage spaces for the monthly or nightly visitor.  Any size boat may be launched at the paved boat ramp, which offers 7 lanes for your use.  The maximum lake speed limit is 35 mph.

The park features 2 swimming beaches, 4 picnic areas, 3 of which can only be reached by boat, nearly 100 miles of paved and/or unpaved trails, 6 miles which are along the southern end of the lake, or you can sit and watch the wildlife that Silverwood Lake attracts, such as waterfowl, raptors, songbirds and the occasional Canadian Geese or Bald Eagle.

DIRECTIONS:
If you are on the I-15 SOUTH, you will take the Silverwood Lake exit and turn LEFT onto Highway 138, which becomes the road that will lead you to the kiosk.  Just follow the Silverwood Lake signs.

If you are on the I-15 NORTH, you will take the Silverwood Lake exit and turn RIGHT onto Highway 138, which becomes the road that will lead you to the kiosk.  Just follow the Silverwood Lake signs.
